Bart Hawkes is 12 years old and fascinated by engineering. Bart was in Oxford with his parents and brother in August and asked if he could have a tour of Osney Lock Hydro. We were delighted to show him around. 

Bart makes videos about historical and recent pieces of engineering. The Hawkes family website describes their educational adventures in the UK and overseas, and Bart posts his videos on YouTube. The aim is to promote an interest in STEM subjects.

Low river levels meant we weren’t running in August. Bart was keen to see the hydro in operation so he plans a second visit later this year. He’s clearly an engineer in the making and we’re hoping he might make a short video about us.
