The hydro is situated on a small island in the Thames situated just downstream from Osney Island in West Oxford. The west side is bounded by a radial gate weir, and the eastern side by the Thames towpath and main channel to Osney Lock.

We love welcoming visitors to the site, enabling people to see renewable generation first-hand. Contact us for the latest opening hours. Even when the site isn’t open, the hydro is visible from the towpath, thanks to the large viewing window into the power house.

In 2021 we completed the main hard landscaping on the site and installed the beautiful human sundial. We look forward to welcoming you on site.
