Osney Microhydro

Osney Lock Microhydro

Osney Weir Microhydro

The micro hydro – a reverse Archimedean screw – has been built on Osney Island which is
surrounded on all sides by the Thames and the Osney Stream.

This project has been under development since 2002, and was brought to investment readiness by WOCoRe.

Osney Lock Hydro has now been set up as an independent registered Society for the benefit of the community, with the specific aim of raising the funds required to build the scheme and managing the project.   The hydro has been built and was commissioned in January 2015.
